Babette Trusted Resources

The places we'd send a friend.

After a breast cancer diagnosis, one of the hardest questions is who to trust. Babette Trusted Resources are organizations our editors have reviewed and believe in: groups, services and programs that do right by the women they serve.

How it works

Nominated by readers. Reviewed by editors.

1

You nominate

Anyone can nominate an organization that has helped them or someone they love. It's free.

2

We review

Our editors look at the organization's work against the standards below, and may contact it with questions.

3

We name it

Organizations that meet our standards are listed here, with our reasons. We look at each one again every year.

Our standards

What we look for.

  • Accurate information. Health information is sourced and up to date, and it's clear what is evidence and what is personal experience.
  • Open about money. It's easy to see who funds the organization and how it makes money.
  • Respect for privacy. It doesn't sell or share people's personal information without clear consent.
  • Honest about cost. Prices, fees and eligibility are easy to find before you sign up.
  • Actually reachable. Real people respond when you ask for help.
  • Treats women as whole people. No pressure, no shame and no promises to treat, cure or prevent cancer with unproven methods.

What it isn't

  • It isn't for sale. No organization can pay to be considered or named.
  • It isn't tied to advertising. Being a Trusted Resource has no effect on partnerships with Babette, and partners get no advantage in review.
  • It isn't a medical endorsement. It doesn't replace advice from your own care team.
  • It isn't permanent. If an organization stops meeting our standards, we remove it.

Our first list is in progress. Nominate an organization you trust to help shape it.

Tell us who they are and why they've earned your trust. Organizations can be nominated by anyone, including people who work there; the form asks how you know them.

A Babette Trusted Resource designation reflects our editors' review of an organization at the time of review. It is not medical advice or an endorsement of any treatment.
